Addiction: Pokémon GO
This is what Pokémon GO Inventors will tell
you, but what is not mentioned here is the fact that it can cause an addiction
that could get your child hurt or even killed.

Now’s
your chance to discover and capture the Pokémon all around you—so get your
shoes on, step outside, and explore the world. You’ll join one of three teams
and battle for the prestige and ownership of Gyms with your Pokémon at your
side. (Niantic, Inc. Google Play, app descript.)
The game of Pokémon GO game works on a typical
Smartphone and is designed to get your child to go outside and while looking at
your smartphone using the phones camera and GPS data will superimpose a Pokémon
creature on your smartphone and then you battle these creatures till they are
worn down to be put into small containers. Then these captive animals are only
released to fight other captive animals and whichever child’s Pokémon beats up
the other child’s Pokémon gets personal glory and fame. Children learn as much
from Pokémon as they would from watching a good cockfight.
The typical adult says that this is just a
passing fad that what harm could come from this game called Pokémon. Other
things or myths that adults think the game offers that children will learn how
to use technology and expose them to computers. Some adults think that their
children would learn morals about work, dedication, and love. Nothing could be
further from the truth.
There are ways to tell if your child is addicted to this
game and intervention is necessary by a professional psychotherapist to bring
your child back to reality. There are reports and news articles from around the
country where children are walking into traffic and getting hit by cars never
looking up from their phone and there has been kidnappings because the criminal
knows where the child will be just by loading the same game on their
smartphone. There are other minor issues with the game stemming from these battles
that kids take on kids and it can cause a real fight, which can give a juvenile
a criminal record that follows them around for life.
There are safe ways to play the game and keep it healthy
for kids to play. The best part of the game is the physical exercise that a
child will get running around town to find their monsters, but children should
do this in pairs. The parents should set
time limits and location limits to keep the child in well-known areas and safe
distance from his or her house. There is an app that tracks your child in
real-time is a very good idea.
Games are fun to play and are never intended to get
someone hurt, but in this day and age is it wise to look at all that could
happen to keep everyone safe and happy.
